SADD\u00a0(South Africans Against Drunk Driving)<\/a>\u00a0is a specialised road safety NGO that raises awareness about the risks of drunk driving.\u00a0 PSA\u2019s donation of a professional grade Lifeloc FC10 breathalyzer will greatly assist SADD in this work.<\/p>\n

Alcohol testing and road safety services<\/strong><\/h4>\n

SADD is a non-profit organisation that provides education, workshops and breathalyzer training to road safety officials, schools, tertiary institutions and health providers.\u00a0 They also provide support to victims of drunk driving. Their aim is to stop \u2018drink driving\u2019 and protect families from needless deaths.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re keen to demonstrate how access to the right equipment makes alcohol testing simple, reliable and accurate.\u00a0 The Lifeloc FC10 professional breathalyzer that we donated to them is the same instrument used by law enforcement officials in roadblocks,\u201d said Michael Crossland, PSA\u2019s Product Manager, Substance Abuse Division.<\/p>\n

Testing for alcohol made simple and accurate<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Lifeloc FC 10 professional breathalyzer combines high precision, ease of use and durability with affordability. It is a multi-functional device that has both passive and active testing modes. Passive testing with this instrument does not require a mouthpiece and is ideal for rapid zero tolerance alcohol testing.<\/p>\n

This instrument is just one of the options available through PSA for alcohol testing and is available either for purchase or rental.<\/p>\n

A cell phone app developed by Lifeloc Technologies can help South Africans monitor their alcohol intake and make more informed decisions about whether they are capable of driving or not.\u00a0 It\u2019s called DrunkGuard and it helps users estimate their blood alcohol level.\u00a0 They\u2019ll then know when they are over the legal BAC limit and should not get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.<\/p>\n
